Wallingford resident Audrey Emata will be the featured soloist in the Delaware County Symphony’s performance of Mozart’s Concerto No. 2 for Flute and Orchestra at its concert on Sunday, May 1, at the Meagher Theatre of the Bruder Life Center at Neumann University. She earned the honor as winner of the orchestra’s Youth Concerto Competition.
Audrey began studying flute at age 6. Now a 9th grader, she has won dozens of competitions and honors, including a full scholarship to James Galway’s master classes at the International Flute Festival. She has been featured on National Public Radio’s From the Top.
The concert will also include ”Polovetsian Dances” from Prince Igor by Borodin and Symphony No. 8 in G Major by Dvorak. A special ticket price of $9 is offered at the ticket table the day of the concert if you show your Delco Library card. Children under 12 (one per paying adult) are free. Concert tickets are $18 or $15 for seniors/students.
