3-3 special olympics nova 001

For their last home game before renovation of their Pavilion, the Villanova Wildcats hosted Butler University, but another team took the court at halftime. Members of the Delco Special Olympics Cavaliers scrimmaged in an exhibition game on the hardwood while Coach Jay Wright prepared the Nova team for a big second half. Another memorable moment for Cavaliers players was a visit to a veritable shrine at Villanova: the trophy awarded to the Wildcats for their victory in the NCAA Championship last spring. 3-3 eagle scouts

On Wednesday, February 23, Life Scout Peter Armour appeared before the Minquas District Board of Review at the Media Courthouse for his Eagle Board of Review, and was approved for the advancement. Peter has been an active Scout with Troop 112 since crossing over from Cub Scouting six years ago. Peter’s enthusiasm for outdoor activities, sports, science and technology have all played a role in the activities of the Troop over the years. To complete the requirements for the rank of Eagle, Peter earned the required merit badges, served as Patrol Leader in the Troop and completed his Eagle Service Project. His project was to repair and resurface the running track at the CADES school on Rutgers Avenue, and this effort is enjoyed by many in the community on a daily basis. A junior at Strath Haven High School, Peter is the son of Andrew and Linda Armour of Swarthmore. Three scouts who have recently earned their Eagle ranks joined Peter at the Board of Review to show their support for their fellow Scout.
