Swarthmore Borough Council will meet on Monday, July 10, for its only meeting of July, a combined work and legislative session beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Public comments will be heard at that time on proposed amendments to the Borough’s parking laws. Under the proposed ordinance, only borough residents with a resident parking sticker would be allowed to park on Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on several blocks relative near the Ville. These are the 200 block of Cornell Avenue (west side), the 700 block of Harvard Avenue (north side), and the 300 and 200 blocks of Dartmouth Avenue (south side).
Borough Manager Jane Billings commented: “We have had complaints from residents about lack of available street parking on all of these streets, mostly due to commuters looking for a free space to park in close proximity to the train station. We hope to redirect them to plentiful long-term parking on Myers Avenue and away from residential streets.”
