(Left to right) Heidi Jacob and Charles Abramovic of Swarthmore, Cynthia Folio of Temple University, and James Freeman of Wallingford combine their talents for the debut program of Chamber Orchestra First Editions this Sunday, February 21, at 3 p.m. in Swarthmore College’s Lang Concert Hall. First Editions will be conducted by Freeman, who created the ensemble of top amateur and professional musicians from the Philadelphia area to perform new and early works by contemporary American composers as well as compositions by Mozart. On the program are Jacob’s Many in One and Folio’s Pentaprism, Mozart’s K. 16, Symphony in E Flat Major, and K. 271, Piano Concerto in E Flat Major. Abramovic is the featured pianist on the second Mozart piece. Interspersed between the works will be discussion of the compositions and their context. The program will be repeated at Haverford College’s Robert Hall Auditorium on Friday, February 26, at 7:30 p.m. The Bob Beach Trio will open the program at Swarthmore.
