Ethan Schwartz is an amazing 7-year-old boy! He brings so much joy and inspiration to everyone he meets with his beautiful smile and tenacious spirit.
Ethan’s journey began at birth with several surgeries to address his congenital heart defect. A few weeks after his 2nd birthday, Ethan had his 4th heart surgery and suffered a cardiac arrest which led to a severe anoxic brain injury. As a result, Ethan is wheelchair bound with Spastic Quadraplegic Cerebral Palsy.
Every parent wants the very best for their child. For an extremely medically fragile child, school can be a very scary place. Thankfully, Ethan was able to attend the CADES George Crothers Memorial School in Swarthmore.
Ethan has been flourishing since he began attending the CADES George Crothers Memorial School in Fall of 2015. The staff members are simply amazing. They believe in Ethan and his friends so much. It shows in everything that they do.
We are so grateful for his aides, Lorraine Thornton and Emily Ford, and their devotion to our kids. It is easy to see Ethan’s happiness as he is pictured with his friend, Lorraine. Everyone is so accommodating to the families and bring such joy to their students.
