Halloween Fun with the Lions

Did you happen to see Optimus Prime and R2D2 trick or treating around town? Five-year-old Grant Towles was dressed as Optimus Prime, for which he won 3rd place in the fancy division, and his brother, 3-year-old Levi, portrayed the charismatic and mischievous robot, R2D2. They are the sons of Madeleine Delson and Kevin Toiles of Dickinson Avenue in Swarthmore. The boys participated in the Lions Club Halloween Parade at SRS last Friday night.

Swarthmore Lions Club handed out awards to the top costumed characters in its annual Halloween parade. Several of the winners assembled in the Swarthmore-Rutledge School gym for this photo by Lions Club officer Jim Ryan; others could not be corralled. The winners by category are:

Comic: 1st Place: Michael Hansen; 2nd Place: Jack Sheehan; 3rd Place: Matthew Getty.

Fancy: 1st Place: Kathleen Kelly; 2nd Place: Rebecca Figura; 3rd Place: Grant Towles.

Groups: 1st Place: Under the Sea (Kylie Elliott and Amanda Kerr); 2nd Place: Big Bad Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood (Daniel and Taylor Myers); 3rd Place: Petting Zoo (Oliver and Caleb Brody).

Scary: 1st Place: Calvin Kerr; 2nd Place: Julia Orlando; 3rd Place: Kyler Minton.
