The Full Monty, an American musical based on the hit 1997 British film of the same name, is a raucous and wholesome, wacky and moving story about the novel approach a bunch of underemployed steelworkers find to fame and fortune: stripping for dollars. The play, written by Terrence McNally with music by David Yazbek, won nine Tony nominations including Best Musical in 2000.
The Players Club of Swarthmore mounts a 10-show run beginning next Friday, April 21, at PCS’s main stage and concluding on May 6, with performances on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.
A Meet the Artists session follows the Sunday performance on April 30; the Thursday, April 27, performance is a fundraiser for the League of Women Voters of Delaware County (e-mail email@example.com for info).
