The historic 1785 Thomas Leiper House will host its annual Colonial Christmas Open House on Sunday, December 18, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public at the historic homestead, 521 Avondale Road in Wallingford.

Holiday decorations adorn each room of the house, arranged by five local garden clubs: Swarthmore, Providence, Springfield and Rose Tree Garden Clubs, as well as the Country Gardeners. The door wreath was donated by Media Flower Shop.

Visitors may also enjoy refreshments all afternoon, including birthday cake in honor of patriarch Joseph Leiper, born on December 15, 1745. Following the event, Leiper House will close until spring.
