On Saturday, March 19, the Hardy Plant Society/Mid-Atlantic Group presents a spring symposium blooming with information of great use and interest to area gardeners. How can you incorporate new landscaping concepts and features into your garden plan? What new or underused plants might look stunning in your landscape, and how can you match them to architectural elements of your home?
At “March Into Spring,” which runs from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Delaware County Community College, five expert gardeners will address these questions and more from their varied perspectives and specialties. Guest speakers include George Coombs from Mount Cuba Center in Hockessin, Del, Eric Hsu and Jonathan Wright from Chanticleer Garden, Heidi Hesselein of Pleasant Run Nursery in Allentown, N.J., and Adam Glas of Scott Arboretum in Swarthmore.
Plants and books for sale, vendors and a silent auction round out the day at the academic building of Delaware County Community College, 901 S. Media Line Road in Media. Registration is $85 for Hardy Plant Society members and $95 for others, including coffee and lunch.
