You are invited to the summer open house on Friday, June 17, at the 1785 Thomas Leiper House, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
It’s a family affair, with children welcome to join parents in wandering through the historic home and grounds, visiting the two outbuildings, and relaxing on the porch overlooking Crum Creek.
The porch is more welcoming than ever, due to the completion of an Eagle Scout project led by Kat Clevenger of Wallingford. Kat and his fellow scouts from Troop 605 repaired and repainted the porch’s intricate Chippendale-style railings and three antique benches.
Admission is free for the open house, though donations are always welcome for upkeep efforts. The Leiper House is located at 521 Avondale Road in Wallingford.
