The Swarthmore Public Library has teamed up with PAWS, a healing pet therapy nonprofit, for a new children’s reading program. On the first and third Thursday of the month, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., children can practice reading to the best listener of all — a dog.
Three therapy dog teams will be at the library for beginning and reluctant readers, and also to listen to children (kindergartners and older) read a book of their choice. This is also an ideal opportunity for English language learners.
Registration is required for each session. If you are registering more than one child, please complete a registration form for each, who in turn will be given a specific 10-minute time slot.
