PCS Blows it Out with ‘Hairspray’

4-15 PCS Wms Caiazzo Medori Keller

Left to right: Nicodemus Williams-Snow, Ali Caiazzo, Rachel Medori and Ronnie Keller dance their way through the Players Club of Swarthmore’s production of Hairspray.

Rocking in the teenaged Baltimore of the seemingly innocent early sixties, the musical Hairspray tells the story of plus-sized dance whiz Tracy Turnblad, her dreams, disappointments and triumphs.

The Players Club of Swarthmore presents a new production of the Tony Award-winning play adapted from the movie by John Waters and directed at PCS by Brian Walsh.

Opening night of Hairspray is Friday, April 22, and runs through May 7. Show times are: Thursday nights at 7:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m.; and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Audiences can meet the cast in a talkback following the show on Sunday, May 1. Ticketing and information are available through pcstheater.org.

PCS is located at 614 Fairview Road in Swarthmore.
