New members of the Potters Guild (pictured left to right: Jim Sheffler, Nathan Willever, Bonnie Ann Burnett and Brett Thomas) recently gathered to finish their handcrafted functional and decorative pottery for the annual Potters Guild’s Spring Sale.

The Potters’ Guild holds its annual spring sale from Thursday, April 28, to Sunday, May 1, at the Community Arts Center in Wallingford. The weekend sale kicks off with a festive preview party at CAC on Thursday evening, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Those who pay $5 to attend the preview party get first crack at the array of original pottery pieces made by more than 30 Guild members and on display at the Duke Gallery. Refreshments will be served at the preview.

Collectors and Mothers’ Day shoppers will find an eclectic assortment of pieces from the functional — bowls, mugs and vases — to the whimsical — figurines, decorative masks and garden ornaments. Hundreds of pieces at varied prices make the sale an exciting and popular destination.

Hours on Friday are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday hours at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free; the Duke Gallery is handicap accessible, with parking on site.

Community Arts Center is at 414 Plush Mill Road in Wallingford. More information is at communityartscenter.org.
