Readers: Library Board Needs Leaders

Swarthmore Public Library seeks a few good men and women to serve as members of its board of trustees. Board member Bridget Doherty says, “What we need most are people who cherish and understand the value that the library brings to our community, appreciate how the role of the library is changing in today’s society, and can help us evolve as a hub of the community.”

Interested applicants for a three-year term should expect to participate in monthly meetings of the board, and prepare to commit two to four additional hours per month to board work.

The board will consider applications (available at the library) during the month of October from Swarthmore Borough residents or taxpayers.

Application deadline is October 31; the terms will begin in January 2017.
