Sophie Maekawa, a first year voice student at Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, will be a featured singer at the Swarthmore United Methodist Church Christmas pageant this Sunday, December 18, during the worship service at 10 a.m. Sophie is the granddaughter of Mary and Henry Drott of Swarthmore. Four month-old Nicholas Figura plays baby Jesus; his parents Kelly and Michal Figura are Mary and Joseph, and big sister Rebecca is an angel. All are welcome to the service at SUMC, 129 Park Avenue, Swarthmore.

Twelfth Night Revelry

Come support the Strath Haven Silvertones as they host one of their many fundraisers, Twelfth Night Revelry, on Saturday, January 7, from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

This fundraiser includes a silent auction with live music from the Don Jones Band, food, drink, and dancing. The event will be held at Tarble-in-Clothier Hall on Swarthmore College’s campus. Tickets are $35 per person in advance or $40 at the door.

This festive evening will benefit the Silvertones’ 2017 singing tour of Italy. For tickets go to silvertones.teamr.com or contact chcrouch@gmail.com.

Holiday Songs and Strings at War3house3

Just Roses and Friends will celebrate the season with a holiday concert this Saturday, December 17, at War3house3 in Swarthmore. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.; doors open at 7. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

The following evening [Sunday, December 18] at 7 p.m., Strath Haven High School’s Silvertones will ring out from the stage at War3house3. The show is free; donations will be sought to support the group’s biennial European tour.

Next Wednesday, December 21, at 7 p.m., War3house3 welcomes the Swukestra to its stage for a free holiday show. Celebrate with good time music and good times with your friends and neighbors. Bring your own holiday cheer to any event; light snacks are provided.

Holiday Open House

All residents of the 161st legislative district are invited to State Representative Leanne Krueger-Braneky’s holiday open house on Friday, December 16, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Enjoy refreshments while getting to know Leanne and her staff. This event is free and open to all constituents at the representative’s office at 701 E. MacDade Blvd. in Folsom.
