2-5 Kates-Shaw, Untitled, bw

“Untitled” b/w by Emma Kates-Shaw is one of the “Works from Ireland” on display at Swarthmore Borough Hall.

A group exhibition of works inspired by experiences in Ireland last summer opens tonight (Friday, February 5) with a reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Swarthmore Borough Hall, 121 Park Avenue.

Swarthmore College students Emma Kates-Shaw, Steve Sekula and Tess Wei, all students of painter and professor Randall Exon, visited Ballycastle in County Mayo, Ireland, last summer. Works they created in varying styles and media comprise this show, which is sponsored by Swarthmore Friends of the Arts. Exhibition and reception are free; the show continues through February 29.
