Mary Elizabeth Logan, a resident of Swarthmore, passed peacefully on June 25, 2019.

She was the daughter of the late Colonel George and Estelle Logan of Swarthmore. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James and George.

Mary Elizabeth held an A.B. from Chestnut Hill College, an M.A. from Temple University, with additional studies at the University of Paris and Bryn Mawr College. She retired in 1992 after 35 years teaching French at Philadelphia High School for Girls.

Active in the Philadelphia area, she volunteered as a French tour guide, was secretary of the Alliance Francaise, participated in The Old Academy Players, the Dickens Fellowship, The Valley Forge Historical Society, and was a docent at the Caleb Pusey House, Upland.

She is survived by 10 nieces and nephews, their families and Miriam Berry Moore, cousin.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 9, at St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church,
617 Providence Rd., Wallingford.
