Swarthmore College alumna Emma Otheguy (‘09) will present two programs this week, sharing her books and talking about her career. Her work focuses on Latin American and Latinx history, literature, and identity.

Sunday, Nov. 24, Otheguy will read from her work, sharing excerpts from books like Silver Meadows Summer and Martí’s Song for Freedom. Books will be available for sale and signing. Children and families especially welcome. 2 p.m., Swarthmore Campus & Community Store, 4 S. Chester Rd.

Monday, Nov. 25, Otheguy will discuss her trajectory from teaching, to writing picture books and novels, to getting her doctorate in history, sharing insights from her professional journey. Scheuer Room of Kohlberg Hall, Swarthmore College.
