One Book, One Swarthmore

One Book, One Swarthmore promotes literacy and community dialogue by encouraging Swarthmoreans to come together through reading and discussing a single book. We are living in unusual times and need to connect with our community now more than ever.

Votes have been tallied, and this year’s selection will be “Love in the Time of Cholera,” by Gabriel García Márquez.

You can get a digital copy of the book online through the Swarthmore Public Library’s website, or you can buy one — preferably through a local independent bookstore. The Swarthmore Campus and Community Store is offering free delivery in the 19081 zip code: 610-328-7756 or store@swarthmore.edu.

Events — including a Zoom keynote address by Swarthmore historian Rebecca Davis — will be held between May 26-29.
