The Community Arts Center (CAC) will present its eighth annual Tie-Dye Music Festival on Saturday, August 29 (RAIN DATE: Sunday, August 30), from 5 to 8 p.m. This is a free, outdoor, family event.

Because of COVID-19, the event will be modified from its standard format: There will be no tie-dying on site, but do-it-yourself tie-dye kits will be available for purchase ($20), and attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite tie-dyes.

There will also be live music, performed by Norman Taylor (acoustic blues), Gumbo Nouveau (jazz with a New Orleans feel), and Out of Order (eclectic folk rock).

CAC Director Paul Downie is excited to invite people to enjoy their time on the Arts Center grounds. “Live music is an essential healing force in these challenging times,” he says.

Bring your own food and beverages, and blankets (and sun umbrellas) to sit on the lawn. Masks are required for everyone over age two, except when eating or drinking.

Admission is free, but reservations are required, and the number of attendees will be limited so physical distancing can be maintained.

414 Plush Mill Road, Wallingford.
