In this two-week period, the ambulance responded to 32 calls for medical assistance, to Swarthmore, Rutledge, Morton, Springfield, Nether Providence Township, Ridley Park, and Ridley Township. The calls were for a variety of emergencies, including respiratory emergency, head injury, pediatric emergency, diabetic emergency, seizures, suicide attempt, and cardiac arrest. 10 of the calls were to assist COVID-19-positive people.

In addition, the fire company responded to: 

  • Three building alarms, including one in the 300 block of Dartmouth Avenue in Swarthmore for a stove that would not shut off.

  • Four automobile alarms, including one on northbound Interstate Highway 476 in Nether Providence Township for an automobile running into the guardrail, with entrapment.

  • One cover assignment in Glenolden.

  • Five automatic alarms.

  • Eight mutual aid calls to Morton, Nether Providence Township, Glenolden, and Springfield Township.
