In this two-week period, the ambulance responded to 27 calls for medical assistance, to Swarthmore, Rutledge, Morton, Springfield, Nether Providence Township, and Ridley Township. The calls were for a variety of emergencies, including respiratory emergency, head injury, accident with injury, overdose, pediatric emergency, and cardiac arrest. Three of the calls were to assist Covid-19-positive people.

In addition, the fire company responded to: 

  • Six building alarms, including one at 111 S. Chester Road, Swarthmore, for smoke coming from an oven.

  • Four automobile alarms, including one on Kedron Avenue in Morton for an accident with head injuries.

  • One hazmat alarm.

  • Three automatic alarms.

  • Two brush alarms, including one at the corner of Park and Michigan avenues in Swarthmore for smoke from controlled burning.

  • 13 mutual aid calls to Morton, Rutledge, Nether Providence Township, and Springfield Township.
