  • On July 23, at 6: 20 p.m., the police were dispatched to the intersection of South Chester Road and Yale Avenue responding to a motor vehicle crash that involved two cars. Officers confirmed that no occupants were injured because of the collision. After investigating, it was determined that one car had been traveling east on Yale Avenue, and entered the intersection with South Chester Road. At the same time a second car had been traveling west on Yale Ave. and tried to make a left turn to head south on South Chester Road, turning in front of the eastbound car. The two cars collided in the middle of the intersection and were pushed over to the far southeast, according to traffic standards. Both cars had to be removed from the scene by a tow truck.

  • On July 26, at 1:28 p.m., the police came to the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Cedar Lane in response to a report of a motor vehicle crash. It was determined that three cars had been involved, all traveling east on Baltimore Pike, nearing the intersection with Cedar Lane. The cars were moving slowly due to heavy traffic. The first car moved forward and struck the rear bumper of the car in front of it, pushing that car into the bumper of the car in front of it. The police responded to seven alarm calls, including false burglar alarms, fire alarms, and panic alarms.

Medical Emergencies

The police responded to 20 medical emergencies and assisted other responders, including medics and the Swarthmore ambulance service.
