Apparatus from Garden City, Swarthmore and Media responded to the incident. The fire was limited to an electrical enclosure without spread to the rest of the dwelling. Fire extension into a wall or fire in a wall cavity has the potential to spread almost unchecked through the building and is often difficult to completely locate and extinguish. A fuel line rupture made extinguishment difficult until a dry chemical fire extinguisher was applied to blanket the fuel spill and prevent re-ignition. Diking of the spilled fuel was initiated after extinguishment. The vehicle was a total loss.
